Marty’s Bio

Marty

I've been singing in church from my earliest memories.  My first solo in church was on my 10th birthday when I sang, "It is No Secret", one of my mothers favorite songs.  I sang throughout high school and sang in college as a part of a vocal jazz ensemble.  As an adult I have been blessed to be apart of several women's groups, Heavenly Harmony (a group of 12), a Sextet, and a Trio (two sisters and me).  Our trio is still very active.  I led the music in my church for over 25 years.   So sharing the gospel through music has always been one of my greatest joys in life.  Then..... my husband, Norm and his friends Steve and Janis Miller introduced me to Southern Gospel Music just a few years ago.   I have been able to fall in love with a new style of music that I'd had little exposure to whose purpose is to praise our LORD.  Singing as a mixed quartet, I have been able to experience the rich, full harmony of 4 voices.  There is nothing like it (don't you just love that bass?).  I confess to enjoying the old style quartet music best of all.  Janis and Steve have now gone off the road to dedicated more time to their church so Norm and I find ourselves as a duet.  There is no one I would rather sing with than my best friend and the love of my life, my husband Norm.  The bible verse most often on my mind now is II Chronicles 7:14 , If my people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
